{"id":132,"date":"2010-10-20T00:04:57","date_gmt":"2010-10-20T07:04:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jessegilbert.net\/?page_id=132"},"modified":"2016-01-20T15:03:30","modified_gmt":"2016-01-20T22:03:30","slug":"threatbox-us","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jessegilbert.net\/cms\/code\/threatbox-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Threatbox.us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An interactive installation by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sester.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marie Sester<\/a>.<br \/>\nComputer Vision Developer &#8211; Andre Bernhardt.<\/p>\n<p>Website: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.threatbox.us\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>http:\/\/www.threatbox.us\/<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Threatbox.us is an interactive installation   with web surveillance  interface in which a movie frame from a montage of violent   excerpts  from films, news media, and computer games &#8220;attacks&#8221; visitors   via a  robotic video projector and computer vision tracking system.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I was the sound designer, lead developer, and technical director for this installation work.\u00a0 The sound design is essentially a sonic collage made up of hundreds of samples that both literally and obliquely represent violence in society, presented monumentally in a multi-channel diffusion pattern in the installation space.\u00a0 My development work centered on the integration of an infrared camera tracking system into a motion control system for the DL1 DMX-controlled video projector from High End Systems.\u00a0 Tracking coordinates were translated into pan\/tilt instructions that allow the projected image to dynamically follow visitors to the installation space.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Exhibitions<\/span>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fargfabriken.se\/index.php?lang=eng\" target=\"_blank\">F\u00e4rgfabriken<\/a> (Stockholm) 2007, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laboralcentrodearte.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Laboral Centro de Arte<\/a> (Gij\u00f3n, Spain) 2007<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XU-JM7K2jQQ\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\nCredit: Marie Sester<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An interactive installation by Marie Sester.
