Jesse Gilbert exploring transdisciplinary arts and culture

No(!)sy Room at Kala Arts Institute

Jesse created live visuals for Motoko Honda’s No(!)sy Room #1: Curiosity Garden of Sound and Light immersive performance at Kala Arts Institute in Berkeley, CA, February 2-3, 2018.

No(!)sy Room #1: Curiosity Garden of Sound and Light, conceived and directed by pianist/composer Motoko Honda is a performance series of an immersive experience of sound and light, utilizing the unique architectural features of the space hosting the installation, a multi directional surround sound system provided by Meyer Sound and light/video projections.

To help realize her vision for this special performance series, Honda has teamed up with with long time collaborator Jesse Gilbert from L.A., and new collaborators, Ian Winters and Norman Teale from Bay Area. The experimental and open nature of this series allows collaborators to explore different ideas, developing unique identities and concepts on each performance during Honda’s residency at Kala.
