Jesse performed live visuals for Niyaz’s immersive multimedia show at UCLA’s Royce Hall, August 19th, 2023.
On August 19, 2023, Farhang Foundation and UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music were proud to present the Los Angeles premiere and final global performance of NIYAZ: THE FOURTH LIGHT, the immersive multimedia production inspired by the life and philosophy of the first female Sufi mystic poet and feminist Rabia Al Basri from the 8th century. The performance, which took place at UCLA’s prestigious Royce Hall, featured the incredible talents of Azam Ali and Ramin Loga Torkian, the duo behind NIYAZ, and featured Sufi Semazen by Tawhida Tanya Evanson, and traditional dance by Tara Pandeya. Also featured are musicians Sinan Cem Eroglu (Kaval & Kopuz), Ravi Naimpally (Tabla), and Gabriel Vinuela (Keyboards), with multimedia visuals designed by Jerome Delapierre and Jesse Gilbert.
