Motoko Honda’s Sound Escape Project – Escape Velocity is a collaborative multimedia performance combining electro-acoustic music with live video projection featuring Spectral GL* developed by Jesse Gilbert. Spectral GL is an interactive listening instrument that generates realtime visual landscapes in response to the music, and it reveals the deep structure of sound in a visual language that is both intuitively and aesthetically linked to our emotional experience of music. Motoko Honda’s kaleidoscopic sound scape is generated through a combination of acoustic piano, synthesizers and electronic devices. She is joined by Joe Berardi on drums and Alex Noice on electric guitar. Expect highly dynamic music with grooves, ambient noises, and mesmerizing visual landscapes.
